Thanks to funding from the PA Department of Education’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant, Armstrong-Indiana Intermediate Unit 28 and Evergreen After School Club are excited to continue their sixteen-year partnership of providing afterschool and summer programming in our area. This grant provides funds for low-income areas to provide out-of-school programming for academic enrichment and youth development.
Programming will resume at the following school districts: Homer-Center, United, and Penns Manor Area. We are excited to add Indiana Area School District and Leechburg Area School District to participate in the 21st Century Community Learning Center. Programming is expected to begin in October.
Programming will be open to all students, regardless of a student’s intellectual or physical abilities or their income levels. A trained staff will provide a caring and safe atmosphere. The program will provide homework assistance; educational curriculum in science, technology, engineering, art, and math; physical fitness; social recreation; and social emotional learning.
Questions about the program can be directed to Andrea Sheesley at ARIN Intermediate Unit 28 email: asheesely@iu28.org and/or to Evergreen After School Club’s email: evergreenasc@evergreenasc.org.
More information and updates about the program can be found on Evergreen After School Club’s social media and website: wwwevergreenasc.org.
