Evergreen After School Club is a partner organization of 21st CCLC/ARIN IU28 which offers after school and summer program that serves K-8 students and their families in Indiana and Armstrong Counties. The program is open to all students, regardless of a student’s intellectual or physical abilities or their income levels. The students benefit from trained professional staff of approximately 60 individuals (many of whom have backgrounds in education) in a caring atmosphere; their goal is to not only to provide a safe place for children to go after school, but to also provide educational opportunities and assistance.
Evergreen After School Club is housed directly in the students’ schools. This configuration further enhances and encourages the collaborative efforts between Evergreen staff and the school district staff. Additionally, we regularly survey the students’ teachers and administration to gather information on how the students are doing with their attendance, grades, state assessment tests, their behavior, and participation during the school day to further build this relationship. Evergreen provides nutritious snacks, funds for field trips, and special events to club students. 21CCLC/ARIN Evergreen After School Club provides homework assistance, educational instruction, recreation, STEAM curriculum, physical fitness, health education, the arts, and social emotional learning.
Evergreen After School Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the educational and character development of youth in a safe and caring environment. Annually, Evergreen After School Club serves over 500 members and their families in one Armstrong County and four Indiana County school districts. They benefit from trained, caring, professional staff and volunteers. Our program is federally funded and all students in the member districts are eligible to participate, free of charge.
Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in this area, we formed our organization to provide sensible solutions. Originally part of the Boys and Girls Club of America, we've been providing after school programming for nearly 15 years. We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community! We are happy to partner with ARIN IU 28 to provide outstanding STEM, physical fitness, academic help, and SEL to the youth of Indiana and Armstrong Counties.
When we think of June, we often imagine gardens filled with brightly colored flowers and happy wedding couples. But at Evergreen, our thoughts turn to pigs....
On June 13, 2024, a dedicated group of community volunteers will gather at Noble Stein Brewery to kick-off Evergreen's annual Kiss A Pig competition.
These same volunteers will pound the pavement to raise money to support our program. They might don a pig suit and run laps. They may sit in a dunk tank. Whatever they may do, they do it in service of our area's children.
So, come and join us at Noble Stein on June 13 from 5-8pm and meet our candidates. Can't make it on June 11th? No worries. Come out and support them on July 25th from 5-8 pm as they take over bartending duties at Levity Brewing!
On August 27, 2024, at 6:30 pm on the Indiana County Fair Grandstand stage, in front of hundreds, our winner will plant a big kiss on a local pig!!
Does this sound like something YOU'D like to do? Of course it does! Call Denise at 724-910-1475 or email us to BECOME A KISS A PIG CANDIDATE!
